Job Description:

Perfect summer job for high school juniors and seniors.

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Firework Tent Associate. As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling sales transactions, ensuring the safety and security of our fireworks inventory, and contributing to the overall success of our tent.

Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries about our products, provide recommendations, and assist customers in selecting the appropriate fireworks for their needs.
• Point of Sale (POS): Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently to process sales transactions, handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, and issue receipts.
• Product Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our fireworks inventory, including their features, effects, and safety precautions. Educate customers on the proper handling and usage of fireworks.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, restock shelves as needed, and ensure that the fireworks display area is organized and visually appealing.
• Loss Prevention: Implement strategies to prevent theft and unauthorized access to fireworks. Maintain vigilance and promptly report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
• Tent Setup: Assist in setting up the firework tent before the opening hours, ensuring that all displays are properly arranged, signage is visible, and safety measures are in place.
• Closing Duties: Help in closing the firework tent at the end of each day, including counting cash drawers, reconciling sales reports, securing the premises, and preparing the tent for the next day's operations.

Time Commitment

• June 26 - July 5 (Approximately 40-60 total hours)
• July 20 - July 24 (Approximately 40 hours)

Requirements:

• Currently attending high school OR
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Knowledge of fireworks regulations and safety guidelines (training will be provided).
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy boxes of fireworks.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred

• Experience in extracurricular activities such as Speech and Debate, DECA, FBLA, Football, Wrestling, Basketball, Volleyball, Math Counts, etc.
• Good grades.
