Role Summary :
The Staff Nuclear Pharmacist will play an essential role in assisting the Pharmacy Manager efforts for the safe, effective and client-focused operation of the Nuclear Pharmacy.
Job Responsibilities and Duties :
- Compounds, prepares and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals per physician prescriptions and Company, State and Federal regulations.
- Performs Quality Control testing on all dispensed products. Assesses medications to determine identity, purity and strength; performs white blood cell labeling, enters daily elution's, kit preparations, and inventory audits.
- Complies with all Company, State and Federal requirements for the handling and shipping of radioactive material. Keeps laboratory clean as per regulatory specifications.
- Assists the Pharmacy Manager with overseeing pharmacy staff, technicians, lab workers and drivers. Has the capability to oversee running of the facility, known as Pharmacist in Charge, as needed.
- Assists with the monitoring and control of operational expenses, inventory and purchasing of supplies within the pharmacy.
- Provides clinical support for customers with radiopharmaceutical questions. Informs management of complaints or requests in a timely manner.
- Provides training and instruction to pharmacy technicians, lab assistants and nuclear medicine technology students.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures while safely carrying out the responsibilities of position. Complies with all company safety standards, and all federal, state and local laws.
- Performs other job-related duties as required by the Pharmacy Manager.

Physical Requirements :
Manual dexterity for manipulating small and large items; ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each shift and to be able to lift 75 pounds on occasion, and to handle standing, walking, sitting, and operating a motor vehicle for 4 hours with limited rest intervals; will be required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push / pull, and balance weight regularly; ability to withstand frequent ground transportation; good eye-hand coordination; good eyesight (with or without correction lenses); normal hearing in both ears (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz); quick large motor skills reflexes to safely and efficiently maneuver motor vehicle when defensive driving abilities may be required; ability to analyze situations, display good critical thinking skills, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment effective organizational skills; and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
