Job Description: We’re seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to join our team to serve our surrounding Middle Georgia communities. The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a team environment, detail-oriented, and willing to assist where necessary. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Travel to required facilities in the area to staff within the pharmacy, assists with pharmacy projects, and provide additional support as needed
- Assists the pharmacist in providing medication, drug information, and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital personnel
- Receives and stores incoming deliveries of medication and supplies
- Demonstrates an ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions ranging from the newborn to the elderly populations
- Maintains inventory of supplies in pharmacy and other departments and reorders them accordingly
- Answers the phone and communicates effectively with hospital staff as directed by the pharmacist
- Performs tasks related to sterile compounding, including but not limited to clean room training, cleaning, and maintaining the space
- Prepares and delivers medications to designated locations based on end-user need
- Maintains stock in the automated dispensing cabinet
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state(s)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician
- Travel: This position will work at multiple hospitals around the Middle Georgia area. The majority of travel is within 1 hour and a half radius of Macon, GA with a maximum travel radius of 2 hours. Mileage reimbursement included as well as incentive pay.
Schedule Details:
- Full-time (4-5 days per week; 30-40 hours per week)
- One weekend per month
