We’re looking for an Admissions Pharmacy Technician to join our PharmScript team within our Data Entry department. As an Admissions Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible ensuring that the insurance plan information is set up and for the entry and processing of medication orders for newly admitted patients for long term care facilities into the pharmacy operating system. Pharmacy technicians are expected to have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment, must be dependable, possess a strong work ethic and have reliable attendance. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and is an effective communicator. They are always a team player, eager to jump in where needed and collaborate with others to support the goals of the pharmacy and the needs of customers.
Responsibilities
• Admissions Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for creating and updating patient profiles for newly admitted patients • Responsible for the entry and processing of medication orders for newly admitted patients via Pharmacy’s operating system • All tasks and duties must be completed in accordance with the department standards for productivity and accuracy• All tasks and duties must be completed in compliance with HIPPA guidelines, State and Federal laws and current company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required• Must be a registered pharmacy technician in the applicable state• Long Term Care experience preferred• Knowledge of Medicare Part D, Medicaid, Medicaid HMO plans, & commercial insurances. • Knowledge of Brand/Generic medications and Sig codes required• Knowledge of Framework or Docutrack a plus
Skills and Abilities:• Strong analytical problem solving and strategic thinking skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines• Moderate to advanced computer and typing skills required, including Microsoft Office applications• Candidate must possess basic math skills to calculate prescribed medication quantities quickly and accurately for dispensing
