Education / Certification :
Eighth grade education or higher
High school diploma with courses in typing and business practices, or equivalent-preferred
Must possess basic computer skills in the operation of personal computers or display terminals - preferred
Valid Texas driver's license (Class B)
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must have enough command of the English language to effectively make oral and / or written presentation on activities related to his / her job responsibility - preferred
Be able to communicate using modern communication technology (telephone, fax machine, two-way radio, etc..) preferred
Ability to perform the physical requirements as per the duties listed in the job description
Basic skills in human relations
Experience :
One or more years of outstanding performance, while working for PSJA ISD preferred
Proficient in the use of office equipment such as, but not limited to : typewriter, adding machine / calculator, copy machine, fax machine, communication equipment, etc... preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable

Technical Skills, Responsibilities and Duties

Major Responsibilities and Duties :
- Assume accountability and control responsibility over all office and school supplies.
- Practice good housekeeping at all times.
- Assure that aisles are kept clear of obstacles to prevent accidents.
- Assure that safety procedures, while loading, unloading, filling orders, and stocking, are followed at all time.
- Assure that safety data sheets are provided by vendors for all office and school supplies which are included under the hazardous chemical list.
- Receive shipments and notes physical damage to packages and overage / shortage on freight bill of lading.
- Match delivered items to purchase order noting differences and reporting them to the department purchasing them (model, brand, size, color, or quantities, etc.).
- Make report of merchandise which was damaged upon delivery. Fills required claim forms to assure that the freight company or the sending company repairs or replaces damaged merchandise at no cost to the district.
- Store all supplies and equipment properly to avoid damage to items.
- Maintain a current inventory of all office and school supplies stored in the warehouse.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies and school supplies by setting reasonable minimum and maximum limits.
- Maintain such information as date issued, supplies issued, materials issued, tools issued to who issued, and work order number or requisition number on items picked up or delivered by department on a scheduled basis.
- Request inventories of office supplies and school supplies, from persons in charge of such inventories at each campus or building. Utilizes information to determine proper amounts for filling orders and for reordering.
- Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

Tools / Equipment Used : Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; forklift or hydraulic lifting equipment; hand truck, dolly, and pallet jack; small hand tools; light truck or van
Posture : Frequent standing, kneeling / squatting, bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, and twisting.
Motion : Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding;grasping / squeezing, wrist flexion / extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting : Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment : Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces;. frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
