The Camper Repossession Agent is responsible for locating, securing, and recovering recreational vehicles (RVs), campers, and trailers from individuals who have defaulted on their loans or lease agreements. This role requires strong investigative skills, mechanical troubleshooting abilities, and knowledge of state and federal repossession laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locate and recover campers, RVs, and trailers using skip tracing, GPS tracking, and other investigative techniques.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, such as broken slide-out motors and other common problems that may arise when breaking down a camper that has been sitting for an extended period of time.
- Ensure all repossession activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Secure and transport repossessed campers to designated storage or auction facilities.
- Safely haul repossessed campers using a Ram 3500 dually, Ram 4500 snatch truck without causing damage.
- Maintain detailed records of repossessions, including interactions, vehicle conditions, and recovery locations.
- Handle sensitive situations with professionalism, de-escalation techniques, and conflict resolution skills.
- Work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, to locate and retrieve assets.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in repossession, towing, RV transport, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of repossession laws and regulations.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair minor issues with campers, including slide-outs and electrical components.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using technology such as GPS tracking systems and repossession software.
- Experience operating a Ram 3500 dually, Ram 4500, or snatch truck for safe and damage-free transport.
- Physical ability to perform the job, including lifting, towing, and maneuvering large vehicles.
- Certification from a professional repossession organization (e.g., CARS or RSIG) is a plus.
