About You
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the network infrastructure is well architected and runs smoothly. Success in this role requires strong experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining networks. It demands robust and innovative approaches to problem-solving, technical leadership, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal, formal and informal), flexibility, accountability, and a self-motivated working style with attention to detail. Your experience and knowledge will be instrumental in building, managing, and maintaining a highly resilient network. You will also serve as the technical representative for your team during major incidents and troubleshooting of network-related issues.
Job Requirements
- 7–9 years of hands-on network engineering experience.
- 5–7 years of network operations experience, including troubleshooting and incident handling.
- 5–7 years of experience in network design and implementation.
- 5–7 years of extensive experience with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Advanced networking knowledge of EIGRP/OSPF/BGP routing, L2 switching (Port-channel, vPC), and firewalls.
- Detailed understanding of network security, including firewalls and VPNs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a controlled change management environment.
- Provide network operations support in a 24/7 operating environment.
- Manage the full end-to-end technology life cycle within the network space.
- Collaborate as part of a global network team monitoring and troubleshooting low-latency network environments across multiple continents.
- Maintain and validate quality network services by establishing and enforcing managed hosting standards, metrics, and best practices.
- Support internal and external customer requests.
- Plan, design, and collaborate with vendors to build, install, and configure new network capabilities to meet business needs.
- Manage projects, including effectively documenting requirements and developing clear execution plans.
- Plan and script complex changes within the network infrastructure, which may involve weekend and off-hour work.
- Handle patching and upgrade management of networking devices.
- Participate in the change control committee, providing input on all changes/additions to the network to ensure minimal disruption to production systems.
- Identify and delegate ways to create efficiencies in supporting clients, internal communications, and process development and refinement.
- Forecast potential issues within technical solutions and provide proactive remediation options for consideration.
- Resolve any scheduled maintenance or major outage issues escalated from direct reports.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible is an advantage.
- CNP/CCIE certified or equivalent.
- RHCE, CompTIA certified, or equivalent experience is desirable.
Salary : $125,000 - $155,000
