What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior System Engineer - Windows / Citrix position at Phaxis?
Our client, a growing fintech firm in Long Island, is looking for a System Engineer to join the team. You will collaborate with people across the globe, with local teammates in every office providing support and project implementations in a fast-paced environment.
This role supports Windows & Citrix and works directly with users and management to plan and direct work across the Windows and Citrix environments.
For this role, you will have a background in Microsoft Windows with experience in supporting, configuring, and installing Windows Servers. You will be experienced in using Powershell to automate tasks across large IT areas. You will be experienced in designing, building, and supporting Citrix Desktop Virtualization environments globally.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10 years experience in managing, administering, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022
- Solid experience in design, implementation and support of Windows Active Directory, FSMO, DNS, replication, etc.
- Experience in deploying Citrix environments (on-prem, hybrid, cloud) from scratch or upgrading and/or migrating existing deployments (7.15/1912 )
- In-depth knowledge of implementing and supporting distributed Windows ADCS
- Prior experience implementing and supporting SAML/SSO deployments and integrations with Citrix.
- Experience with AD GPO and secure configurations
- Experience with auditing of AD Windows environments and performing adjustments to security & configuration policies
- Deep experience in administering and troubleshooting Citrix environments.
- Deep experience with Citrix architecture & design. Including ADC/NetScaler, Citrix ADM, WEM, XenApp, XenDesktop, High Availability, resiliency/redundancy, GSLB etc.
- A knowledge of scripting (PowerShell a plus) and performing tasks through automation
- Experience with monitoring and automation tools (ControlUp/PDQDeploy)
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5 years experience working as a Windows and Citrix Engineer
- Experience in administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 2012, 2019 and 2022
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Citrix environments
- Experience with multiple Windows Server Operating Systems including Windows Server 2012, 2019 & 2022.
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Fuze, Jira/Confluence would be a plus
Pluses:
- Knowledge of ITSM principles, ideally ITILv3 certified
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs and network routing principles
- Knowledge of VMware virtualization platforms
- Experience with configuration management systems
Salary : $130,000 - $155,000
