Position Details:
- Role: Special Education Teacher (Contract)
- Location: Schools near Dover, DE
- School Year: 2024-2025 with a renewal option
- Hours: Full-Time, Regular School Hours (Mon-Fri)
- Caseload: Opportunities at Elementary, Middle, and High School levels
Experience & Requirements:
- Preferred: School-based experience working with children with developmental disabilities
- Preferred: Experience in a pediatric setting
- Required: DE Special Education Licensure (or in the process of obtaining)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student, tailoring them to meet unique needs
- Create a positive, supportive learning environment that fosters success for students with developmental disabilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in literacy and math, adapting materials for each student's level and needs
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and specialists to ensure a holistic approach to student development
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to maximize growth both academically and socially
