What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Director position at Pheasant View Assisted Living and Memory Care?
Pheasant View Assisted Living and Memory Care is seeking a full time Activities Director.
We are located in Layton at 1242 E Pheasant View Drive.
We for a fun, out-going, energetic individual to join our team to lead the activities in our assisted living and memory care community.
This position will directly interact with the residents by both planning and carrying out daily activities.
Expected shift is Monday through Friday 9:00-5:00 with flexibility.
This position reports directly to the Administrator and will be tasked with working directly with all care and culinary staff to plan and execute activities.
Duties:
- Welcome new residents and gather information about them and their preferences.
- Plan, develop, and implement a variety of engaging activities and programs for residents based on their feedback and requests.
- Coordinate and schedule activities to ensure a well-rounded calendar of events.
Calendar to be created one month in advance and posted publicly as well as printed and distributed to all residents.
- Coordinate with outside providers and volunteers to arrange for special monthly activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to delegate activities to take place during hours you are not at the community.
- Manage budgets and resources for activities department
- Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments as needed
- Maintain documentation and records related to activities and resident participation
- Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings and report meeting minutes to the team.
- Develop and Lead a team of Resident Ambassadors for welcoming new residents and any resident outreach needs.
Qualifications
-Employment is conditional on Background check and fingerprinting clearance in Utah Direct Access Clearance System (DACS)
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in event planning
- Knowledge of assisted living and nursing home environments
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, memory care, and dementia care
- Understanding of senior care and recreational therapy
- Proficiency in activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Ability to manage schedules effectively
- Experience in counseling on aging issues
- Background in social work or caregiving
- Familiarity with navigating computer software for creating flyers, calenders, and forms.
The ideal candidate will have connections in the industry and come prepared with ideas and resources for running activities and harnessing regular volunteers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
