What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal/Legal Assistant position at Phelps & Associates?
We are a busy law firm practicing in criminal, personal injury and civil cases seeking a paralegal or legal assistant for our personal injury and civil caseload. Experience having worked on personal injury and civil cases is preferred. Responsibilities will include opening and maintaining all personal injury and civil client files; managing deadlines and scheduling events for the attorney; communicating with clients, other law firms, court personnel, and others as a representative of the office; preparing correspondence, pleadings and transaction documents; preparation of trial materials.
The position requires great attention to detail. A professional attitude and excellent organizational skills are a must. The successful candidate will also have had training or experience in legal terminology, general office practices and procedures, strong inter-personal skills and writing skills.
While we are accommodating to the various scheduling needs of our employees, this position does require you to be available to stay after office hours to work on deadlines with the attorney/ other office staff occasionally.
Compensation will be commensurate with the experience/training of the successful candidate.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
