What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Business Analyst position at Phelps County Bank?
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting other project managers on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions that affect departments as well as enhance customer experience.
Outcomes and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Project Management
- Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient delivery of project tasks and milestones.
- Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts.
- Support system conversions, upgrades and enhancements.
Business Analysis and Improvement
- Identify, create and facilitate improvements by conducting business and system analysis; focus on quality of improvement; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones to ensure systems and procedures meet the long-term goals.
- Assess business processes and system inefficiencies.
- Identify ways to increase customer satisfaction.
Collaboration and Communication
- Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs.
- Stay current with customer and business strategies; facilitate project meetings and presentations (for example, senior management and technical staff).
- Collaborate with others; articulating projects; identifying and initiating projects and holding self and team accountable for results.
- Serve as liaison between different departments of the bank to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancements and implementations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 10 years related experience in project management
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, information technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications

- Ability to facilitate project meetings and presentations, articulate projects, and serve as a liaison between departments.
- Ability to develop project plans, estimate time and resources, monitor milestones, and track project lifecycle.
- Capability to assess business processes and system inefficiencies, conduct business and system analysis, and identify improvements.
