General Summary
- The Diet Aide 2 is responsible for cashiering duties, serving of food to cafeteria, grill and DDCI café customers in a polite and courteous manner, stocking of supplies, keeping cafeteria, DDCI cafe and grill area and dining room clean and orderly, providing quality service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example.
- Anticipates customer needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a "customer comes first" attitude and connecting with the customer.
- Reconciles cashier report per shift to ensure correct cash balances.
- Keeps food, and supplies stocked and equipment in food service areas clean and sanitized.
- Assists with training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
- Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees and customers during each shift.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that employees can locate resources and product as needed.
- Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all Starbucks recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred. A basic amount of education is necessary. Ability to read, write and follow directions. Must be willing and able to learn other tasks and duties.
Work Experience
- No previous experience required. Barista experience preferred.

Mental/Physical Requirements
- Mental ability required to follow written and verbal instructions and perform simple math tasks. Long periods of standing and walking. Ability to read and write. Ability to learn and understand policies and procedures related to handling of cash, cleaning, sanitation, safety, operation of cash register and food and beverage equipment. Ability to lift 30 lbs. or more during shift.
Working Conditions
- May come in contact with patients. Will experience heat and noise. Will experience wet floors and exposure to steam, water, cleaning chemicals, glass breakage and sharp knives. Must be able to work in a congested area.
