Food Service Worker, FT 11:00a-7:30p (every 3rd weekend & rotating holidays)

SUMMARY

The Food Service Worker works directly with patients and visitors every day from handling cash and preparing food to cleaning and sanitizing throughout the cafeteria and food service areas.

Compliance with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as PMHC policies is a condition of employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Incumbent must have the skills, ability and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:

1. Serves as cashier, operating cash register and reconciling drawer.
2. Follows established policies regarding charging of special and free meals as well as weighted food items.
3. Maintains a high level of customer service
4. Responds to requests in a timely and courteous manner
5. Answers phone professionally, relaying messages to proper person.
6. Sets up items for serving and communicates with cooks if additional food is needed.
7. Maintains supplies in vending machines and nourishment areas
8. Stocks and organizes café using FIFO method
9. Cleans and washes equipment, dishes, pans, tables and carts.
10. Maintains food service café and dining areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
11. Procures food items from refrigerator, freezer or other storage areas.
12. Cooks, prepares, cuts, washes, and garnishes items for meals and cafeteria.
13. Follows HACCP plan and records temperatures of foods prepared and held. 
14. Follows DNV, State, and Federal regulations.
15. Attends staff meetings and in services.
16. Other food service area duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to working near moving mechanical parts, may work with explosives and risk of electrical shock.  The employee frequently works in extreme heat (non-weather).  The employee occasionally works in wet, humid conditions (non-weather); is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals; exposed to outdoor weather conditions and extreme cold (non-weather); and is exposed to vibration. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to safety risks.  Employee is rarely exposed to blood borne pathogens.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
