Position Summary :
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for pulling, packing, and shipment of finished goods inventory. This position processes daily shipments to ensure customer receives necessary products in the time desired. They will adhere to company standards for quality and job parameters, while maintaining a professional and team oriented behavior and attitude.
Essential Functions :
- Shipments of finished goods inventory
Process incoming pick tickets and purchase orders
Communicate with truck lines to determine the best method of shipmentCommunicate with the customer service, production, and sales teams.Process all documentation needed to ensure the accuracy of shipments.Package product neatly and protectively to ensure the product arrives without being damaged in transportation.Process packing list, bill of lading, and shipment documentation.Apply identifying information and shipping instructions onto skid shipments.Post weights, shipping charges, and affixes postage.Organization of shipping area.Receive and stock racks with daily production of products in designated areas in fulfillment.
Rotate incoming inventory with existing inventory to ensure the oldest inventory is sent first.Keep aisles and floors clean and clear to maintain company safety standards.Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas.Takes precautions to protect equipment, property, and product against loss.Suggests improvements to shipping procedures and acts to improve quality, timeliness, or reduce costs.Adheres to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company's internal audit program.Operates forklift to move shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to outgoing trucks, storage or work area.Secondary Functions :
Individual must be able to complete any reasonable request of management necessary to effectively operate the department / company.Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning / organization, and decision-making skills.Participation and support of 5S initiatives and activities.Skills and Experience :
Previous warehouse and logistics experience preferred.High school diploma / GED / or equivalent.Basic mathematical skills.Strong work ethic, time management and troubleshooting skills, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented.Word processing and other basic computer skills.English language required.Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people in a wide variety of settings, possessing strong communication skills, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple task simultaneously.Physical and Other Requirements :
This job is performed indoors in a temperature and humidity controlled environment. Job tasks are performed in close proximity to other people and include exposure to strobe lights, sounds and noise levels that could be distracting. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend or crouch. The employee must frequently stand, walk, talk, and occasionally lift, push, pull and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include ability to hear alarms and other sensors in a factory environment. Requires use of hands to handle, control or feel objects and operate tools and controls.
