Job Description
Phenix Truck & Van is seeking talented candidates for a SolidWorks Engineering CAD Technician position to join our design & engineering team. If you have a passion for manufacturing and computer-aided design (CAD) and enjoy working with truck solutions and automotive systems, this may be an excellent opportunity!
The SolidWorks Engineering CAD Technician takes Solidworks CAD Models and generates production-ready drawings and BOMs for production release. This position works closely with team members to execute projects promptly. There may be times when this position requires additional modeling and engineering department support.
The candidate must be proficient in 3D CAD utilizing SolidWorks. The candidate must also be able to work under limited supervision, be a self-starter, and enjoy working in a team environment.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in CAD Drafting or equivalent technical/fieldwork experience
- Minimum of 6 years Solidworks CAD experience & Drafting
- Sheet metal manufacturing process knowledge and experience
- Basic understanding of vehicle systems & manufacturing processes
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to read, interpret and generate engineering drawings and written specifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and shop personnel
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Ability to finish projects on time with limited supervision
- Must be flexible and able to handle multiple projects & priorities
- Ability to adjust to high-pressure and rapidly changing business conditions
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams...)
- Adobe Acrobat
- SolidWorks 2024
- Typical office environment conditions for design and workstation tasks (~70%)
- A portion of the designer’s time will be spent in a manufacturing floor/shop environment, under & on vehicles (~30%)
