Job Summary
We’re seeking a detail-oriented individual to handle our family office's day-to-day bookkeeping, accounting, and general administrative needs. This role includes managing Airbnb bookings for multiple residential properties, coordinating light property maintenance and vendor scheduling, and providing occasional personal assistant support. The position requires onsite visits in Kentucky but offers flexibility for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, budgets, and reports
- Coordinate property maintenance and work with contractors
- Manage Airbnb listings, bookings, and guest communications
- Handle light scheduling, email correspondence, and general admin tasks
Requirements
- Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience (QuickBooks or similar)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and onsite as needed
- Experience with property management and/or short-term rentals a plus
Duties
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and balance sheets.
- Perform double entry bookkeeping and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
- Prepare and process journal entries to reflect business transactions accurately.
- Conduct account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure financial integrity.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Utilize financial software such as Quicken or Xero for efficient record-keeping.
- Assist in preparing tax documents and reports, ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and governmental accounting practices is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
