The Director Biological Research and Development is an integral part of our Research and Development team based out of our US - Omaha, NE - Vaccines site.
Position Details
The Director of Biological Research and Develpment is an integral part of the R&D team based out of our Phibro Vaccine Omaha Office in Omaha, NE. The Director of Biological Reasearch and Development is responsible for leading the research and development team within the US, execute development plans and projects, to support and drive continuous scientific advancement in research and technology with a focus on bringing relevant solutions to the global vaccine marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
Support, lead and manage the R&D team at the Omaha location (PVO) and global autogenous business. Support the molecular vaccines business globally. Drive an innovative and effective R&D effort that delivers a pipeline of innovative products. Manage R&D projects, including the close monitoring of milestones, resources and budget/expenses. Create the annual R&D budget for PVO and manage the budget on an ongoing basis Collaborate and coordinate with the RA department in order to achieve the maximum efficiency in the development process. Collaborate with the various field teams to identify vaccine targets, develop the business case and assess the chance of Technical and Regulatory Success. Collaborate and coordinate with manufacturing, to optimize the implementation of new technologies and new products within the manufacturing process and to ensure a consistent, reliable and quality supply of seed to Production. Collaborate with the Phibro Innovation Center (research farm) and CRO’s to ensure the most time and cost-efficient pathway to complete the clinical evaluations. Continuously screen the literature for new developments and technologies. Support manufacturing in process validation and problem solving.
