Vice President, Global Strategic Communication
Our client is seeking an innovative and results-driven Vice President, Global Strategic Communication to lead and shape our global retail company’s communication strategies. This leadership role will oversee a dynamic team of 20 professionals, driving the development and implementation of compelling communication initiatives that resonate across multiple markets and reflect our brand's values and vision. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a global mindset, adept at navigating cultural nuances, managing crises, and building strong stakeholder relationships. This individual will play a pivotal role in positioning the company as an industry leader through effective internal and external communication strategies.
The Vice President will develop and execute a global communication strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives, ensuring consistent messaging across diverse regions and audiences. They will oversee a team of communication professionals, fostering growth, collaboration, and excellence within the department. Strengthening the company’s global reputation is a critical responsibility, achieved through managing its brand narrative, media relations, thought leadership, and corporate storytelling. The position also involves leading public relations efforts, including media engagements, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and stakeholder communication to build strong external relationships. Internally, the Vice President will ensure seamless communication strategies that engage employees, reinforce company culture, and align with organizational priorities.
Crisis management will be a key aspect of the role, requiring the individual to act as the company spokesperson during high-stakes scenarios, mitigating risks, and protecting the brand’s image. Additionally, the Vice President will spearhead integrated communication campaigns tailored to regional markets, leveraging traditional and digital platforms to drive engagement and brand loyalty. Measuring and analyzing the impact of communication strategies, presenting data-driven insights, and making recommendations to the executive team will also be vital.
You must have at least 10–15 years of experience in strategic communication or public relations, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. A proven track record of leading global communication initiatives in a retail or consumer-focused industry is highly desired. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills, along with an in-depth understanding of cultural sensitivities and regional differences in communication styles. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced global environment while managing multiple priorities and delivering results under pressure, are essential.
