Job Summary: The Dishwasher plays an integral role in our BBQrew which highlights our core value of commitment to cleanliness and safety which is ultimately responsible to the success of the guest dining experience at Phil’s BBQ. The Dishwasher washes and cleans tableware, pots, pans, trays, utensils, cups and other cooking equipment while maintaining a clean and organized work area in compliance with all safety and sanitation guidelines, policies and regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the core values and mission of Phil’s BBQ (“PHILS”).
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, sheet pans, trays, and other items using a dishwasher system or by hand.
- Keep dishwasher clean and immediately report any functional or mechanical problems to the Kitchen Manager.
- Monitor dishwasher water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
- Sort and remove trash and any large food particles, placing it in designated trash areas as needed.
- Sweep, scrub, mop and dry floors.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as directed.
- Receive and store supplies and general restaurant inventory.
- Clean garbage cans and drains with water or steam as needed.
- Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent injury, breakage, or loss.
- Attend all scheduled employee mandatory meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guest needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for coworkers where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations are maintained.

- Commercial use of dishwashers, glasswashers, pot-washing machines, power washer/soaker, Salvador
- Drying and draining racks, domestic kitchen funnels, domestic trash compactors
- Hand trucks or accessories, bus tubs, handheld thermometer and probes
- Soap dispensers or dispensing brush, wet mops, detergents
- Cloud-based employee schedules accounts
- iSolved Employee Self-Service accounts
- Personal Protective Equipment as needed (PPE).
Minimum Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in a warm, steamy, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Able to work in a walking and standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- The ability to speak, see, hear, read, and write in the English language (Spanish a plus).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Authorized to work in the USA (we E-Verify).
- Possess valid Food Handler Card (will certify if lacking).
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (will certify if lacking).
- Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with or without correction.
- Must be able to see 20/20 vision with or without correction.
- Ability to frequently lift objects (bus tubs, containers, bags, boxes, stacks) weighing between 5-35 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, crouch, grasp, grip, pull, and push objects and occasionally climb.
- High level of mobility, manual dexterity, and endurance.
- Ability to work in a high volume and busy work environment.
