An employee in this class performs a variety of laboratory tests using complex methods in a variety of fields, which include clinical chemistry, microbiology, advanced molecular microbiology, immunology, urinalysis and hematology. Work includes providing technical guidance and training to lower level technicians, troubleshooting instrumentation and testing problems, compiling information, reporting results from analysis/research findings and recommending process improvements. Work is performed under the general direction of a technical supervisor.
