This posting is not open to the public.ABOUT THE POSITIONThis is protective work supervising on an assigned shift a group of security officers responsible for enforcing the security and conduct rules and regulations for a municipal facility or installation to prevent disruptive and illegal actions, entry of unauthorized individuals and vehicles, theft and vandalism. Employees in this class assign lower level security officers to specific stations, patrol the facility or installation, review incident reports, train new employees and apprehend and detain individuals committing illegal actions. Regulating the activities of the public, supervising a group of security officers and contact with public and law enforcement officials are significant aspects of the work.Work is performed under the supervision of a higher level security officer or administrative superior and this involves some disagreeable aspects and light physical effort.
