We are currently seeking to fill our Public Services Librarian position at the Georgia campus with a highly qualified and passionate individual.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Public Services Librarian provides management and leadership in all aspects of circulation, document delivery, access services, and collection management. They provide direct user assistance and reference support via in-person, email, phone or chat, and supervise two full-time staff members and student workers.
This position is responsible for ensuring a positive, user-centered customer service presence for faculty, staff and students. In addition to public service duties, the Public Services Librarian may act as a liaison to academic programs. The candidate must establish rapport and work collaboratively with library colleagues and campus-wide constituents including financial aid, student affairs, information technology, plant operations and the registrar.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful incumbent will perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodations :
Management of Public Services
- Work with the library's Library Services Platform (LSP) : Run statistics / reports as needed, work with Systems Librarian to complete end of year processing and any upgrades, and work with vendor support to troubleshoot issues
- Oversee the circulation desk, course reserves, stacks maintenance, and a variety of library technology
- Manage study room reservations system, or equivalent manual process
- Work with Public Services team across all campuses to ensure circulation desk hours of operation, and make needed adjustments for holidays, renovations and emergency closures
- Compile usage statistics and generate reports as needed for library staff and leadership
- Keep abreast of the physical condition of facilities within the library such as furniture, lighting, public computers, office equipment and printers
- Serve as Chair of the Communications Committee
- Participate in outreach and marketing of the library's resources
- Maintain and update library digital signage
- Work with library leadership and colleagues on all campuses to develop, document, and implement library policies and procedures
- Assist with emergency preparedness
- Coordinate with other departments on overlapping issues, including the Human Resources, Registrar, Admissions, Information Technology, Plant Operations and the Bursar
