Investigator I – Older Adults Protective Services (OAPS)

Join our passionate and dedicated team of professionals working to protect adults aged 60 and over from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment. As an Investigator I in the Older Adults Protective Services (OAPS) department, you’ll be on the front lines of advocacy, assessment, and crisis response, helping older adults live with safety, dignity, and respect.
What You’ll Do:
- Investigate reports of elder abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and abandonment
- Determine if abuse is substantiated and develop individualized service plans
- Respond to crisis situations, including emergency interventions and court petitions when needed
- Conduct interviews with clients, families, service providers, and other agencies
- Provide ongoing case management and reassessment as required
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with State and agency standards
- Work collaboratively with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community agencies
- Participate in outreach, education, and public awareness efforts
- Testify in court and assist with legal enforcement as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1.5 years of professional experience in human services, law enforcement, or nursing
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a related field
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a fully insured vehicle
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and criminal history clearance
- Availability for paid rotating evening/weekend on-call duty
- Use of personal cell phone during work hours
- Willingness to transport clients as needed
- Completion of required Protective Services certification training
- Adherence to confidentiality laws and agency policies
