Summary of Job

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Director of Support Services to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the rights and needs of crime victims are met and providing support throughout the criminal justice process. The Assistant Director of Support Services plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the delivery of services to victims of crime. This position involves managing the daily supervision of victim witness coordinators, developing and implementing resources and referrals, and collaborating with other unit directors.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervision : Supervise and support a team of victim witness coordinators and support staff, including conducting regular performance reviews and fostering professional development.
  • Program Management : Oversee the day-to-day operations of victim witness coordinators, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services and support.
  • Case Management : Oversee complex cases and provide direct support to victims as needed. Ensure that victims receive appropriate assistance, including emotional support, information on their rights, and referrals to additional resources.
  • Procedure Development : Maintain and update victim witness coordinators' courtroom and unit assignments.
  • Quality Assurance : Coordinate with victim witness coordinator to ensure the provision of high-quality services and adherence to best practices and policies. Ensure timely and appropriate services are provided to victims of crime and referrals to community resources.
  • Program Management : Perform administrative tasks related to program management, including maintaining records, managing correspondence, and ensuring compliance with organizational and funding policies
  • Collaboration : Work closely with other units within the District Attorney's Office, as well as external partners such as law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and advocacy groups. Foster strong relationships to enhance the coordination and effectiveness of victim services.
  • Reporting & Analysis : Assist in preparing regular reports on program performance, including metrics related to service delivery and victim satisfaction. Assist in analyzing data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for program enhancement.
  • Operations : Assist the Director of Victim Services in the daily operations of the unit, special projects other tasks as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in victim support, social work, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of victim rights, trauma-informed care, and best practices in victim support.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide effective support to individuals in crisis.
  • Experience in program development and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Applications will be active for one year from the date of receipt by the Office.
