Job Summary

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office is seeking a Wellness and Compliance Liaison to provide services and advocacy for crime victims and witnesses. This position will be part of the Relocation Unit and is responsible for ensuring that victims' rights, as outlined in the Crime Victims Act, the Victims’ Bill of Rights, and the Consolidated Victim Service Program Standards (as directed by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency), are fully implemented.

We are looking for a compassionate, empathetic, and responsive candidate who can think creatively and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.

The Liaison will travel to confidential off-site relocation sites to conduct assessments, collaborate on goal planning with victims and witnesses, and ensure that their holistic wellness needs are identified and addressed. This role also requires the completion of annual professional development training.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research and advocate for community resources, such as mental health, behavioral health, public assistance, and housing resources.
  • Respond to and intervene in crisis situations, providing immediate support and resources to victims and witnesses to maintain safety and security.
  • Inform victims of their rights and services available to them, providing clear guidance on how to access assistance.
  • Collaborate, and accompany Relocation Wellness and Compliance Officer to onsite assessments and wellness checks to provide holistic case management.
  • Provide support services by responding to, incoming telephone inquiries, written correspondence and other requests. Services may include referrals for counseling, transportation to and from court, retrieval of personal property from temporary housing facilities, relocation assistance, etc.
  • Travel to off-site confidential relocation sites to identify and access any issues/concerns, and provide immediate intervention for victims and/ or witnesses ensuring safety while in relocation program.
  • Prepare reports and field notes, and provide feedback, recommendations, and updates on case status to relocation coordinators Director, and Executive team.
  • Provide case status updates before, during, and after case disposition, using telephone, email, or in-person communication with all relevant team members throughout legal proceedings
  • Work closely with Assistant District Attorneys, community organizations, local authorities, private organizations, social work, and criminal justice agencies to coordinate services and create comprehensive support systems for victims


Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited university; degree in social work, counseling, or related degrees are preferred, but not required. Have attained 1-2 years of social work/case management experience and 1-2 years of clinical social work experience
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (especially in languages relevant to the local community).
  • Previous experience working with crime victims or in victim advocacy, particularly within non-profit, government, or social service settings.
  • Understanding of the criminal justice system and victims' rights.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and various community partners.
  • Experience working with victims of trauma or violence and ability to provide compassionate and empathetic support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Candidates must be organized, flexible, capable of working under pressure, and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and listening skills are a must; ability to converse and/or write in multiple languages is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is desirable.
  • The ability to develop and cultivate effective internal/external working relationships is essential, as is an understanding of the uniquely sensitive and confidential nature of the professional services provided by the Office.

All exempt employees of the District Attorney’s Office are at-will employees and serve at the pleasure of the District Attorney. The at-will relationship shall not be modified for any employee and no agreement, oral or written, shall be entered into that changes the at-will relationship.
