Are you a creative Philly native who’s passionate about giving back to your community? PhillyGoes2College is looking for a Social Media Content Associate (part-time) to help connect Philadelphians – from students and parents to guidance counselors and educators – to resources that help them achieve their higher education goals. You’ll help spread the word about opportunities that make a difference in Philly and the region.
About Us:
PhillyGoes2College, an initiative of the Philadelphia Education Fund (PEF), is dedicated to helping Philadelphia-area students and families access the resources needed to pursue postsecondary education. By offering free college readiness tools, scholarships, application assistance, and event support, we work to ensure every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to achieve their educational dreams.
About the Role
This role is about creating content that speaks directly to fellow Philadelphians, helping them access the resources they need to succeed. You’ll work closely with our Creative Director, internal teams, external partners, and sponsors to keep our social media presence fresh, engaging, and relevant to the Philadelphia community and region across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
What You’ll Do
· Create content that resonates with Philadelphians of all backgrounds – students, parents, educators, and anyone looking to access educational resources in Philly and the region.
· Manage and schedule social media across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X to keep the city and region engaged.
· Collaborate with our Creative Director, internal teams, external partners, and sponsors to deliver impactful campaigns that support educational opportunities in Philly and the surrounding area.
· Serve as a brand ambassador at college/career fairs, symposiums, and on-campus events, directly connecting with students, parents, and counselors in Philly and the region to share resources.
· Analyze social media data to improve engagement and outcomes, creating strategies that speak to our community in Philadelphia and beyond.
· Own blog posts and lead content management to keep our platforms updated and relevant to the Philly area and its people.

· Creative self-starter – You know how to create engaging, relatable content that speaks to Philadelphians.
· Content management expertise – You’re familiar with tools like WordPress, AirTable, Hootesuite, and Canva to manage content effectively.
· Social media expertise – You know how to read and use analytics to create compelling posts for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
· Team player – You collaborate seamlessly with the Creative Director, internal teams, external partners, and sponsors in the Philly area and region.
· Video/photo production skills – You have the creativity and tools to produce content that stands out in Philly’s social media space.
Salary
We’re offering a competitive hourly rate of $30-50/hour for a contract position, with the role being part-time 18-20 hours/week for 12 months. The hiring range for this role accounts for the many factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
