Position Title: Account Services Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary: $18.00 per hour
As a member of the Account Service team, your primary responsibility is to serve and satisfy the credit union members. This includes whether your job involves dealing with the member directly or indirectly. You will affect members’ accounts financially and non-financially through the posting of various types of transactions. You should possess the ability to work in groups and/or independently to meet deadlines to complete certain projects assigned by management.
Departmental responsibilities are to attain the organization’s goal by providing effective and efficient quality service to the credit union membership through timely and thorough communication. Patience, tact, honesty and compassion are essential.
Essential Functions & Basic Duties
· Adhere to credit union policy in accordance with security and operational control requirements.
- Answer incoming calls daily according to service standards.
- Assist with creating and revising procedures.
- Ability to travel to the branch network for training when needed.
- Ensures credit union remains in compliance with banking rules and regulations that exist for ACH, funds transfer and check and return item processing. Informs management when non-compliance conditions exist.
- Responsible for processing all EFT requests daily, including but not limited to ACH affidavits, incoming and outgoing wire requests, payroll postings, and bill payer inquiries.
- Process and balance all exception reports daily. Ensure all deadlines are met.
- Process Comdraft and sharedraft daily.
- Process Ach Exception report, ensuring the file is sent to the Fed by the end of business daily.
- Responsible for daily payment posting either received via the mail or within the credit union.
- Responsible for all ATM processing, including balancing each ATM terminal, processing exceptions, disputes, return items, VISA DPS reports, maintaining funding for offsite ATMs, monitoring the provisional log and reconciling Branch 6 weekly.
- Responsible for processing all Visa reports related to our card products.
- Responsible for processing daily certificate renewals and monthly certificate earn checks.
- Responsible for processing all deceased accounts.
- Participate in Symitar release testing as needed.
- Participate in projects as needed.
- Serve as back up when required.
- Complete periodic training including but not limited to BSA.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimal High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2-3 years experience providing or selling financial services or related experience.
- Ability to balance and make mathematical computations.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent Member Service skills.
- Possess good ethics and integrity.
- Possess analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Symitar and Visa system.
- Extensive knowledge of EFT processors.
- Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- In depth knowledge of the related rules and banking regulations (Uniform Commercial Code, NACHA rules, Regulations CC, D, J) governing the Credit Union’s electronic services (ACH, check processing, wire transfers).
- Must be attentive and detail oriented.
