Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) is offering internships/co-ops for Computer Science students in our Information Service Governance Department. Opportunities are available during the academic/calendar year and summer months.
The PGW Internship Program is designed for students currently enrolled FULL-TIME at an accredited college or university with a sophomore classification or above ONLY.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of our organization's data assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance frameworks and establish data standards, including data classification, data lifecycle management, data quality, and data privacy.
- Helps in ensuring controls are in place for access and security for IS managed and self-service environments.
- Work with the Director of IS Governance to promote a data driven culture through data literacy programs and best practices
- Work with the Director of IS Governance to establish policies and monitor for AI-related products.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies and procedures, identifying and resolving data quality issues and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement data governance tools and technologies, ensuring their alignment with business requirements and objectives.
- Work as part of a team to gather requirements and assess data governance tools.
- Assist in developing and implementing IS governance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance with legal and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary information and support during IS audits.
- Assist in analyzing IS governance data to identify trends and patterns, generating comprehensive reports on key metrics and performance indicators.
Qualifications
- Be a full-time student currently enrolled in an accredited university or college;
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Services, or other relevant field of study;
- Have a sophomore classification or above;
- Be in good academic standing;
- Be able to commit to 15-20 hours per week to the program (year-round interns);
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and computer skills.
