We have an immediate opening in our Quality Department for a Quality Assurance Technician. This position will be for the 2nd shift, 3 p.m. - 11:30 p.m., Monday-Friday with some weekends.

SUMMARY:
Monitors the quality of incoming raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods to ensure they meet or exceed specifications. Assists with the administration and monitoring of the overall QC/QA program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Inspects, monitors or audits all of the following:
a. Incoming raw materials
b. Product additives to ensure required proportions are being added
c. Review documentation pertaining to quality control audits
d. Review documentation for control points and critical control points per HACCP/Food Safety program
2. Daily evaluation of product according to PMC evaluation procedures.
3. Preparation and shipping of samples for outside testing.
4. Prepares Certificates of Analysis for outgoing shipments.
5. Places or releases non-conforming product on hold. Logs appropriate information.
6. Tracks inconsistencies and reports to manager.
7. Records results of all product evaluations.
8. Stores all samples for future evaluation.
9. Ensures all lab paperwork is dated, stamped (as needed) and kept in an organized manner.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Position requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of experience in a Mill or food manufacturing (in a factory setting) environment preferred.
- 1 year of experience as a Quality Assurance Technician preferred.
- Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English in order to understand and follow work, GMP, procedures and safety instructions.
- Must be able to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
- Must have physical ability and strength to perform assigned tasks.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes
- Ability to work in production environment that is high in dust, noise, heat, and humidity
- Must be able to work well independently and as part of the team
- Ability to speak with vendors in a professional manner.
