What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations position at Philadelphia Montessori Charter School?
Position Summary:
The Director of Operations holds a leadership position at the school. This is a full-time, twelve-month position. The Director of Operations supervises all logistics for the school except those relating directly to instruction, with a particular focus on financial and facilities oversight. The Director of Operations reports to the Executive Director. Additionally, the Director of Operations is part of the larger PMCS Team, they should have a sense of pride in the school and a desire to help on a larger scale when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the following positions:
- the Grants and Enrollment Coordinator
- the Office Assistant
- the Administrative Assistant
- the Building Manager
- Manage the following vendors/partnerships:
- Building maintenance contractors
- Food service
- Custodial services
- School nurse
- Technology infrastructure
- Security contractors
- Transportation
- Assisting with financial management including audits, budget preparation, and tax preparation
- Assisting with governance of the Board of Directors
- Human resources administration (hiring is conducted by department leaders, then Director of Operations oversees onboarding and HR administration)
- Planning and advising facility construction projects and long term fiscal goals
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred
- Mission driven and enthusiasm for working with youth
- At least 7 years of experience working in school operations and facilities management
- Experience managing quality assurance and compliance (deadline-oriented, careful record keeping, attention to detail)
- High standards for ethics, follow through, customer service
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google platforms
- Ability to manage complex tasks and situations, competing deadlines, as well as creatively problem solve
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate with other departments, agencies, and vendors
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Ability to work extended hours when needed
- Not only team oriented but team enthusiastic
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
