How You Will Contribute
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking a professional and articulate Membership Representative to retain and provide customer service to members on-site from the Perelman Building’s Membership Call Center.
Specifically, you will:
- Conduct outbound phone calls to lapsed or current museum members
- Utilize various campaign strategies for membership renewal, acquisition and stewardship
- Speak with members of all levels, presenting the benefits of membership, Museum exhibitions, programming, and our historic general collection
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Previous telemarketing and/or fundraising experience for non-profits is preferred.
- A desire to make consultative outbound phone calls over the course of 3-6 hour shifts in a busy, but friendly, call center environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Raiser’s Edge is preferred, but not essential
- The hourly rate for this position is $16.75
- This position is Part-Time, Non-Exempt and working up to20 hours per week
- This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit.
- This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Membership Sales
- Physical requirements:
- Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
- Able to move items up to 10 pounds
- Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job
- Upholds the professional standards of the field, always acts in a manner that is consistent with the best interests of the museum and protects and enhances its reputation and standing within the community of museums
- Adheres to the museum’s code of ethics and Employee Handbook and avoids any real or perceived conflicts of interest
- Shows respect for co-workers and visitors and an understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of the museum’s staff, volunteers, and audiences
- Maintains confidentiality
- Adheres to all museum protocols, procedures, rules, and policies
