Job Description
I. Organizational Overview
Philadelphia Youth Basketball, Inc. (PYB), officially launched in June of 2015, is a community-built youth development and community empowerment organization that leverages the iconic game of basketball to help today’s urban youth overcome the most urgent and systemic issues facing underserved communities. A diverse and impassioned group of individuals, including leaders from the grass-roots to the tree-tops, have been working diligently to execute upon this mission by building an impactful program, a robust and sustainable organization, and ultimately our world-class Alan Horwitz ‘Sixth Man’ Center to help uplift thousands of children, youth, and families for generations to come.

II. Primary Scope of Duties
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, PYB is seeking a weekend part time housekeeping attendant to ensure effective cleanliness of all assigned facilities/projects which include locker rooms, floors, grounds, and general custodial maintenance. Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment and a positive PYB experience. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Clean and sanitize floors, furniture, bathrooms, locker rooms, office areas, and equipment according to the assigned daily checklist.
- Vacuum, sweep, and dust all designated areas, furniture, light fixtures, and other equipment as per the daily checklist.
- Routinely check and dispose of trash following proper procedures, as outlined in the daily checklist.
- Ensure all equipment used for programs is clean, sanitized, and in good working order, utilizing the proper supplies and adhering to product label instructions.
- Maintain storage closets and shop areas in a neat, organized, and safe condition, ensuring all supplies and chemicals are properly labeled.
- Report any damage, hazards, necessary repairs, and presence of unauthorized individuals in assigned areas.
- Set up and break down equipment as required.
- Manage the Lost & Found log, recording the date, location found, description of the item, and the name of the person who found it.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
III. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Dispositions
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in housekeeping or customer service.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong intuition.
- Genuine concern for the safety and security of children.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing and prioritizing multiple, often competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent judgment, with the ability to solve problems and make decisions based on supervisor input.
- Ability to anticipate future needs or identify issues and take effective action.
- Experience working in a child/family-oriented environment is preferred.
IV. Compensation and Perks
This wage for this position ranges from $19.23 - $20.19, depending on experience.
