Philadelphia Youth Network is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Part-Time Afterschool Assistant Group Supervisor at Thomas K. Finletter Middle School that’s responsible for assisting with crafting a culture of creativity and innovation for middle school students; implementing and coordinating daily activities under the guidance of the Site Coordinator within PYN’s newly awarded 21st Century Program.

Pay Rate: $18.00hr
Hours: 15 hours a week
The Assistant Group Supervisor will work at Thomas K. Finletter Middle School located at 6101 N. Front Street
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to attend occasional weekend and/or evening trainings
- Must be able to complete and pass physical examination
- Must be able to attend and complete CPR 1st Aide training
- Must be able to successfully pass background checks (PA State Criminal, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse, U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, and F.B.I. fingerprinting)
- Multilingual a plus, specifically, English, French (Creole), Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, and Uzbek
- Experience with creative arts such as dance, fashion, painting, music, drawing and others a plus

Qualifications
What you’ll do:
- Assist Site Director to coordinate Project Based learning, STEAM integration, Literacy, Career Awareness, and social emotional learning activities for OST youth curriculum.
- Encourage creativity and self-expression in students through art projects and assignments, fostering students' creativity through all forms of art.
- Ensure appropriate projects, programs are developed and executed that utilize resources, follow policy and procedures, and meet the expectations of Key Performance Indicators for the contract.
- Manage opportunities for students to experience STEAM, Literacy, and Career Preparation in different ways and modes.
- Assist in developing Lesson Plans that align to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Assist Site Director with community outreach, recruitment, and retention of children, youth, and adults to participate in all OST related activities.
- Assist Site Director in creating and facilitating professional development opportunities for 21st CCLC staff.
- Attend all grant management meetings and professional development as required
- Promote the OST & Youth Programs and activities at the school-based location.
- Provide programming for students after the conclusion of the academic day until 5:30 PM
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed.
- Assist with outreach to parents to ensure regular attendance.
- Assist Site Coordinator in collaborating with the school to identify ways the OST provider can contribute to meeting school objectives (e.g., school report card targets, school improvement action plan goals).
- As needed, support with conflict resolution and problem solving for students.
- Utilize youth development expertise and content to support implementation of enrichment activities in the afternoon.
- Assist with Childcare Licensing Processes.
Education, Experience & Skills:
- High School Diploma with four years’ experience preferred; two years’ experience required.
- Experience with creative arts such as dance, fashion, painting, music, drawing and others a plus
- Experience teaching groups of youth in a classroom and classroom management skills
- Proven ability to design and facilitate curriculum
- Knowledge of Child Educational Development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge and experience working with minority and underprivileged populations
- Computer proficiency and working knowledge of relevant technology tools
- Ability to communicate effectively and check emails, voicemails, text messages daily
- Ability to represent PYN effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse communities.
