About the Position:
Philippi-Hagenbuch (PHIL) is looking for a quick and organized team member to join our Design Engineering Department. This individual will be detailing finished product, trained to perform nesting operations (laying out and sending engineering designs to plasma torches to cut shapes from sheet metal), create serial number plates, and create packets of prints for the plant. This role also files, maintains spreadsheets, and attends meetings as a representative of the Engineering Department, and assists on regular projects to enhance the Engineering and Production Departments' communication and workflow. This position will also have many opportunities to learn additional engineering skills if interested.

Experience Required:
Candidates must have:
- 2-years of engineering detailing experience
- 1-year of office experience in a manufacturing or engineering business
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Mechanical aptitude, the nesting process will be taught but it does require spatial-understanding
Experience Preferred (Not Required):
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Familiarity with nesting sheet metal or torch operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access
- Experience with AutoCAD/Autodesk or similar
Responsibilities:
- Detail finished design work
- Nest finished design files to be sent to the plasma torches in the Production Department
- Communicate with the Production Department on available sheet metal
- Tracking available sheet metal
- Assist on projects such as optimal organization of the steel yard
- Maintaining reports and filing engineering prints
- Attending meetings to update management on the status of open engineering jobs
- Creating instructions and manuals
- Stamping serial number plates
- Additional opportunities to learn skills in: detailing products, designing products, 3D-printing, product scanning
Pay Structure of Position:
- Non-exempt hourly wage
