Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
The successful candidate will be involved with technology that helps save lives, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the cost of medicine around the world.
Your Role:
- Detailed design, analysis, and testing of electrical components and controls with consideration of performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Develop new and analyze, sustain, and improve existing embedded controls software.
- Developing and executing design verification activities, including analysis, similarity, and testing.
- Validating controller performance against customer expectations.
- Developing new processes, methods, and ways of working.
- Thoroughly documenting design inputs and outputs.
- Assisting and/or directing vendors to create prototypes.
- Reviewing and ensuring adequacy of vendor qualification activities.
- Analyzing field and manufacturing issues related to mechanical design and providing solutions where required.
- General design activities such as requirements management, materials and component selection, Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and tolerance analyses.
- Actively participating in multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of product development to ensure successful execution of innovative and best-in-class designs.
You're the Right Fit If:
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of practical experience applying electrical engineering principles in the new product introduction environment.
- Ability to design, develop, and debug electrical circuits, both analog and digital.
- Understanding of control theory and experience generating control algorithms.
- Basic proficiency in other programming languages and tools such as Python, Vector.
- Ability to design mechanical elements necessary to support the electrical components.
- A self-starter, highly motivated with good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to interface with customers and be effective at managing vendors and suppliers.
