The Industrial Hygienist provides support and program leadership to the Operations, Maintenance, and Technical staff at the Rodeo Refinery.
Responsibilities May Include :
- Advocating for programs and policies that enhance occupational health
- Addressing IH / occupational health question and concerns with employees and staff
- Developing and executing the refinery's Exposure Assessment and IH Monitoring Plans
- Managing the site's respirator and hearing conservation programs, including compliance with medical clearance, respirator fit testing, and ear plug validation testing
- Managing the site's portable and personal gas monitor programs, including auditing compliance with calibrations, bump testing, and reporting
- Developing and communicating metrics, trends, and recommendations to management
- Providing IH leadership during planning and execution of maintenance turnarounds and outages
- Acting as the site's IH / Occupational Health Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PSM Management of Change (MOC) requests
- Serving as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) ensuring compliance with radioactive materials license requirements and X-ray device registration requirements
- Managing the SDS database and the new chemical review process
- Working with contractors to ensure they meet IH program regulatory and company requirements
- Managing the site's ventilation programs for laboratories, shops, and field equipment
- Coordinating with other Phillips 66 locations where needed to leverage IH support
- Participating as a member of the site Health & Safety team, promoting safe work practices, leading by example, and providing general safety support as needed
- Conducting annual reviews and follow up of the site's Process for Occupational Health Improvement (POHI) initiative
- Developing and presenting new hire and periodic training on IH program and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing and updating computer based IH training
- Supporting the refinery Emergency Response Team with site and community air quality monitoring
- Managing the refinery's written IH programs and auditing program implementation
- Providing guidance on the site's PPE program and certifying PPE hazard assessments
- Occasionally providing after-hours on-call IH / Safety support
- Serving as the site's TSCA coordinator
- Networking with other Phillips 66 HSE functions on IH issues
- Participating in the corporate Industrial Hygiene Steering Team (IHST)
- Assisting with turnarounds and audits at other Phillips 66 refineries if requested

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $ 103,500 - $ 137,600 depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
This position is eligible for the Phillips 66 geographic differential pay program. Details and terms to be conveyed in offer of employment.
