The Wood River Refinery is located in Roxana, Illinois, about 15 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, low-sulfur; heavy, high sulfur; and high-acid crude oil. The crude supply is sourced domestically or from Canada. Wood River produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include petrochemical feedstocks, asphalt and petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed to customers by pipeline, rail car, barge and truck and are shipped to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
The Instrument Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, installing, and calibrating instrumentation equipment for the Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery.
Responsibilities May Include:
Performing routine and preventive maintenance of Refinery production area equipment to ensure all systems meet operating requirements in all areas including safety, quality, productivity, capacity and reliability.
Inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing electronic and pneumatic devices and systems used to indicate, record, and control.
Providing instrumentation support for control valves, transmitters, analytical equipment, motors, motor starters, and other various instrumentation equipment
Using hand tools, computers, calibration, and test equipment in daily activities.
Troubleshooting and testing electronic circuitry and components to locate defective components using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Testing accuracy of flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration and analytical indicators, controllers, and other recording devices.
Calibrating electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, including transmitters, valves, and transducers to ensure accuracy within acceptance criteria.
Documenting work performed, such as Found/As Left calibration and function test results and SAP maintenance Event Codes.
Reviewing/Redlining/Creating schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, analyzers, circuits, and systems.
Using of the computer maintenance management system (SAP) for equipment documentation information.
Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age
Possess a valid driver’s license
5 or more years of industrial instrumentation experience
Intermediate or greater proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; successful candidate will also require proficiency in SAP and Instrument Database

Willing and able to comply with the following items, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts when required
Climb ladders and/or stairs
Climb a minimum of 100 feet within caged ladder

Perform work in sometimes hazardous conditions that require special personal protective equipment
Work in all weather conditions
Wear personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, hardhat, safety glasses, eye protection, goggles, fire retardant clothing, steel toed boots, gloves, gas monitor, etc.

Maintain face daily (clean shaven) so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in instrumentation and/or control systems technology
Knowledge of Control Systems, such as Honeywell TDC2000, TDC3000, and Experion
Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), such as Allen-Bradley and Modicon
