Responsibilities May Include
- Improving the maintainability, operability and running condition of unit equipment
- Identifying and investigating chronic equipment failures and developing correction action plans
- Participating in technical networks to develop and implement best practices
- Supporting equipment reliability initiatives and proactively applying technical expertise
- Working with planners as needed to ensure repair plans meet all Phillips 66 standards
- Supporting Unit MOC’s by providing supporting documentation and equipment information as needed
- Ensuring equipment repairs meet Phillips 66 standards
- Evaluating equipment upgrades, repairs, replacements for economical merit
- Participating in scope development for turnarounds
- Generating capital/project budget proposals
- Participating in maintenance budget, capital budget, and strategic projects
- Participating in all discipline specific engineering forums sponsored by the reliability group
- Providing the Craft Supervisor with engineering support as needed.
- Providing engineered repair plans.
- Technical trouble shooting.
- Participating in TA scope development and LRP for maintenance improvements
- Networking with other P66 facilities and industry experts to share expertise and implement best practices.
- Effectively managing multiple projects concurrently
- Participating as needed on teams associated with major project, business improvement, optimization, reliability, safety, and environmental compliance activities
- Expecting to temporarily backfill positions on the team as needed
- Work Turnarounds as required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
- 1 or more years of direct experience in refining and/or the chemical industry
- Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
- Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
- Travel up to 5% of the time
- Occasional on-call duties
- Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Transport articles up to 50 pounds
- Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
- Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet in height
- Work around chemicals, including acids and bases
- Work around hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat
- Work outside in harsh weather conditions
- Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
- Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
- 3 years of experience in refining maintenance, operations, and/or projects
- Technical experience with all types of equipment within their engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of vibration, oil analysis and other predictive and condition monitoring techniques for rotating and fixed equipment
- Ability to apply technical expertise to problem solving while achieving broad business objectives
- Personal discipline to balance short term demands with long term objectives
- Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams
- Ability to set clear priorities
