The Oliver Wendell Holmes Library (OWHL) at Phillips Academy is looking for an Instructional & Electronic Resource Librarian. This position is a key member of the OWHL instructional team who participates in our liaison program and provides leadership and expertise in acquiring an integrating electronic resources into the library's collections. In addition, this position is a member of the collection development team and helps staff the at the Welcome Desk.
The instructional Librarian responsibilities will constitute roughly 70% of the librarian's workload, and the Electronic Resource Manager responsibilities will comprise the remaining 30%. This is an .75 FTE (full time), salaried position working during the academic school year. The schedule for this position will primarily work on Sundays from 12pm to 8pm and 9am to 5pm Monday through Thursday.
Responsibilities :
- Participating in the library’s instruction program, which includes planning, teaching, and assessing teacher-requested instruction sessions.
- Serving as an instructional librarian to one or more departments and programs at Phillips Academy.
- Providing research assistance to the community, while working on the Welcome Desk or during one-on-one reference appointments.
- Staffing the Welcome Desk and assisting with both reference and circulation requests.
- Creating and maintaining online instructional materials, digital learning objects, and content for the OWHL’s online presence.
- Planning and developing outreach initiatives including displays, workshops, programs, and community engagement activities.
- Identifying and selecting materials for purchase in given subject areas and actively participating in collection development.
- Participating in professional development activities.
