The Phillips Academy Theatre and Dance department seeks an instructor in theatrical costuming and design for the 2025/26 academic year. The instructor will work in a highly collaborative department, teaching courses in costume design, introduction to theatre and dance, and other areas as appropriate based on experience. They will also be responsible for designing, facilitating, and executing costumes for all Theatre and Dance department productions (approximately 6-8 per academic year) and maintaining the costume shop and inventory. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience teaching and facilitating costumes in a fast-paced production environment. They will also have the ability to teach and/or design in a second area of theatrical production in addition to costumes.
A minimum of BA/BS or equivalent work experience plus two years teaching experience preferred. We seek dynamic candidates who will be active participants not only in the academic program but also in the athletics/fitness and residential programs at this boarding school. Master’s degree or higher plus a minimum of three years’ teaching experience preferred.
