Registered Nurse

The Rebecca M. Sykes Wellness Center at Phillips Academy has 3 open positions for experienced RNs for the overnight shift (6:30pm to 7am).

Position 1 (Part time)

Week 1 : Wed, Thurs Week 2: Fri, Sat Week 3: Sun Week 4: Mon, Tues, Wed

Position 2 (Part time)

Week 1: Sun Week 2: Mon, Tues, Wed Week 3: Wed, Thurs Week 4: Fri, Sat

Position 3 (Full time)

Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat Week 2: Sun, Thurs Week 3: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat

Week 4: Sun, Thurs

These 3 schedules are academic year plus summer session positions.

General Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care for a diverse group of students in a school setting with both ambulatory care and extended care capacities.
• Provides appropriate primary nursing care utilizing professional clinical nursing skills including assessment, care, referral, support and management of all students who come to the Rebecca M. Sykes Wellness Center.
• Identifies, assesses, evaluates and provides nursing care for acute, chronic and episodic health conditions.
• Provides urgent and emergency nursing care as a member of the Sykes Wellness Center.

Requirements

• A MA RN license in good standing.
• BSN or higher level education preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification is required.
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in adolescent medicine, school health, ambulatory care, urgent care/orthopedics or reproductive health care preferred.

Ideal Candidate

• Must have strong assessment skills, be comfortable working independently, and enjoy working wit the adolescent population.
• Strong communication, organizational and time management skills are imperative.
• Computer skills are required and experience with electronic medical records is strongly preferred.
• Professional RN looking for a positive work environment and works collaboratively as part of a team.
