General Laborer

Phillips Contracting is looking for motivated General Laborers to join our team. This position involves performing a variety of physical tasks, including using power and hand tools, assisting with construction projects, and ensuring job sites remain safe and efficient. No prior experience is required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and cleanup
• Operate basic hand and power tools as needed
• Work efficiently to meet production goals set by the Foreman, Superintendent, or Production Manager
• Follow safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for all crew members
• Participate in job-site safety meetings and company training programs
• Assist with setting up and tearing down equipment as needed
• Maintain and inspect tools, equipment, and job-site cleanliness
• Communicate effectively with operators, truck drivers, and other laborers to coordinate tasks
• Follow instructions from supervisors regarding the daily work schedule and production activities
• Load, unload, and move materials safely on-site
• Ensure traffic control and safety measures are in place before starting work
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Six months to one year of related experience is preferred but not required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
• Valid driver’s license preferred; must have a clean motor-vehicle record if operating a company vehicle
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check
• Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed, including overnight stays if required

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
