Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Training and Development Director to lead the creation, execution, and continuous enhancement of our training initiatives. This role oversees the

development and management of training programs aligned with organizational goals, fostering a culture of learning and compliance, and ensuring employees have access to growth opportunities that support both their professional development and the company’s objectives.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in leadership development, learning management systems (LMS), and the ability to tailor training to meet diverse employee needs while promoting a

safety-first, quality-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive training and development strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure training programs are measurable, relevant, and contribute to workforce productivity, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  • Cultivate a culture of learning that empowers employees to take ownership of their growth.

Program Development & Oversight:

  • Design, deploy, and evaluate training programs across functional areas, ensuring alignment with company culture, values, and business needs.
  • Lead the development of initiatives in leadership, safety, quality, and skill enhancement.
  • Manage relationships with external training providers to ensure best-in-class learning solutions.

Learning Management System (LMS) Management:

  • Oversee implementation and ongoing management of LMS to track employee progress, certifications, and compliance.
  • Ensure LMS supports diverse learning formats, including eLearning, instructor-led, and blended learning experiences tailored to various roles and career goals.

Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Leverage data analytics to measure training impact on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to optimize training programs and outcomes.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the training department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Maintain financial efficiency while achieving desired training and organizational development outcomes.

Team Development & Mentorship:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the training team, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
  • Encourage ongoing professional development within the team to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and maintain partnerships with training vendors and educational institutions.

Professional Development & Career Progression:

  • Build career progression pathways, mentorship programs, and opportunities for skill and knowledge growth.
  • Promote continuous learning and industry certifications to enhance engagement and retention.
  • Use sound training models (ADDIE, SAM) for instructional design and effective learning experiences.

Leadership Development:

  • Design programs to identify and nurture future leaders, focusing on emotional intelligence, decision-making, and change management.
  • Provide executive coaching and training for senior leaders to build a robust leadership pipeline.

Safety & Quality Training:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and foster a safety-first culture through specialized training.
  • Develop programs to improve safety awareness and quality standards organization-wide. Customization & Flexibility:
  • Tailor training to meet the specific needs of different employee groups (e.g., new hires, managers, senior leaders).
  • Build modular learning pathways allowing employees to personalize their learning journeys.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proven experience as a Training and Development Director or similar leadership role in learning and development.
  • Strong understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training technologies.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering diverse training formats (eLearning, instructor-led, blended).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of leadership development, safety, compliance, and performance management training.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training and Development, or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPLP-Certified Professional in Learning and Performance).
  • Experience in industries with rigorous safety and quality training requirements.
