Equipment Oiler
Wages
$25 - $35 per Hour
$250 Daily / $1,500 Weekly Per Diem
Shift and Schedule
6-Day Work Week (Dayshift)
12 Hour Shifts
Summary:
Responsible for checking fluid levels (fuel, grease, and oil) and performing preventative maintenance (lubrication, oil changes, oil/air filters, and oil samples) on all heavy equipment used on the projects. The oiler must also safely operate a lube/grease truck to dispense lubricants to construction equipment. Must be able to take direction and accurately log daily activities, such as oil changes, samples, fuel usage, etc.
Essential Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• Servicing various types of heavy construction equipment
• Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels for various compartments including engine, hydraulics, transmission, etc.
• Proper handling of successfully collected fluid samples for analysis
• Accurate record-keeping of all daily tasks via computer and/or paper transactions
• Completing all daily paperwork required for DOT
• Monitoring and maintaining inventories of fuel, oil, filters, etc.
• Visual inspections of machines and reporting conditions/deficiencies
• Compliance with all safety and environmental requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Basic Functional Job Requirements:
• Workers should be able to follow specific directions
• Perform a variety of duties which may often change
• Work within repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
• Evaluate information using measurable standards
• Minimum of Class B Driver’s license with Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements
• Ability to provide and maintain proper license and acceptable driving record
Physical Work Environment:
• Work in dusty or dirty surroundings
• May be exposed to/ required to handle hazardous material such as diesel fuel and similar petroleum products with PPE provided to minimize exposure
• May be required to work at night
• May be exposed to extreme heat and cold environments of a limited basis
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent educational attainments preferred, and on-the-job training required
• Two plus years of oiler/lube technician experience – preferably with knowledge of heavy equipment
• Must provide proper tooling necessary to complete daily job tasks
Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. This exam is essential to ensure that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position.
Completion and clearance of this physical are mandatory steps in the hiring process.
