Summary:
The Regional Safety Manager is the lead for safety initiatives across multiple disciplines, supervising a team of safety professionals in the field and working closely with the Safety Director. This role involves significant travel, approximately 75%, to ensure the implementation and adherence to safety protocols across various projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive safety support to management at multiple levels and field operations.
- Conduct routine field safety assessments to promote a People First Culture and ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal requirements.
- Offer strategic guidance on planning, development, administration, and management of the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Program.
- Lead or assist in incident investigations in collaboration with the Safety Director, focusing on significant events to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with clients through effective communication and interaction, aligning safety practices with client expectations.
- Coordinate and participate in safety meetings with senior leadership and safety team members, promoting the continuous improvement of safety measures.
- Support the professional development of safety team members, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Manage the allocation of safety personnel to projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage and support.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Safety Management or a similar related field required.
- Certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of construction safety experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively up and down the organizational structure.
- Strong planning, organizational, and people management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Bluebeam, and similar software.
