Wages:
$25 - $30 per Hour
$250 Daily Per Diem

6-Day Work Week (Dayshift)
12 Hour Shifts
Summary:
Phillips & Jordan is seeking a surveyor to join our mining team on our project site near Denver, Colorado. The position requires using GPS systems, providing monthly production surveys, as-builts, machine check-ins, and grade checking.
This is a safety sensitive position that is responsible for working alongside heavy construction equipment with knowledge of hazards and safety precautions and awareness of drilling/blasting and cut/fill operations. Performance of routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervision is required daily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment to establish property boundaries and construction layouts.
· Interpret and analyze survey data, blueprints, and site plans to ensure accurate project execution.
· Provide precise elevation, alignment, and positioning data for construction projects.
· Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to verify site measurements and project requirements.
· Record and document survey results, preparing reports and maps for project planning.
· Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations related to land surveying and construction.
· Monitor and adjust site measurements as needed to accommodate changes during construction.
· Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies between design plans and actual site conditions.
· Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing PPE
· Demonstrated ability to achieve results within a team environment with minimal supervision at times
· Good oral and written communication skills
· High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
· Experience in earthmoving and heavy construction with knowledge of cut/fill operations from a variety of projects
· Get off and on equipment using 3 points of contact
· Work safely on slopes throughout the jobsite
· Work safely in all weather conditions
· The ability to work in a team environment
· Judge distances and slopes accurately
· Work with other project employees to meet the project's safety, environment, and production targets
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 1-2 years’ experience in the construction industry with survey operations
· MSHA Part 48 training preferred
