Summary:
The Estimator for Power (Transmission and Distribution) specializes in preparing cost estimates for electrical infrastructure projects, including high voltage transmission lines and distribution systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, materials, and construction processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
· Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and proposals to assess project requirements.
· Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical data.
· Assess potential risks and incorporate risk analysis into project estimates.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes in all estimates.
· Prepare and submit comprehensive bid documents.
· Provide support in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
· Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, especially related to transmission and distribution.
· Excellent analytical, mathematical, and technical skills.
· Experience with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
· Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related experience.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating electrical transmission and distribution projects.
