Your Job Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the MedTech Interconnect product development team.
For this role, we strongly prefer a candidate based near the Costa Mesa facility, but we are open to considering remote options for the ideal candidate. Our Team The MedTech Interconnect team in Costa Mesa, CA designs and develops new interconnect products for MedTech applications. What You Will Do
- Provide comprehensive product design and engineering support to meet customer specifications, ensuring that designs are functional and manufacturable at both component and finished goods assembly levels.
Ensure compliance with medical industry standards as required by the application.
Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for engineering releases, document retrieval, and where-used searches.
Collaborate with the document control group to maintain high-quality data packages.
Balance component manufacturability, ease of assembly, and product functional integrity to meet all design requirements.
Participate in the RFQ proposal process and engage in direct technical discussions with customers, including off-site meetings and internal visits.
Collaborate with product managers and project engineers on supporting documentation for customer communications (e.g., concept renderings and drawings).
Employ design and engineering tools, including 3D CAD modeling, 2D CAD drawings, and tolerance studies.
Guide engineering analysis teams in performing simulations (e.g., FEA).
Implement customer validation protocols and utilize metrology knowledge to support measurements of electronic components and assemblies. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
