Route Recovery / Yard Jockey Position Summary :

Pay : $26 / hr. (1 year locked rate)

Primary Responsibility : Yard Jockey : Responsible for total equipment preparedness of trailers. Stage trailers at assigned dock doors safely and efficiently per the daily routing schedule.

Responsible for safely loading outbound LTL carriers as needed.

Secondary Responsibility : Flex delivery driver / route recovery : To deliver pet food and supplies to local customers using a tractor and 53’ trailer by all DOT and Phillips policies.

Hours : Monday Friday 9 am 6 pm w / 30-minute unpaid lunch (shift start and end time may vary depending on workload)

Position Essential Duties :

Primary

• Safely fuel, clean, inspect, hook, and drop trailers at designated doors.
• Properly wheel chock and secure the trailer safely.
• Work closely with dock personnel to ensure necessary equipment is positioned correctly for safe loading and all dock plates are functioning properly.
• Using a forklift to load outbound freight and route trucks as needed on trailers.
• Train in emergency hazardous materials response.
• Assist warehouse / dock personnel as time permits.
• Participates in a safety culture that includes no recordable accidents and no loss of time injuries. Always make a safe choice.

Ensures proper PPE is always used. Watches out for co-workers and warns them of any safety issues or hazards. Participates actively in all safety programs and duties.

Assist Sanitation with warehouse cleaning. Make sure docks are clear of debris and foreign material.

Secondary

• Deliver product to customers using a walk-behind pallet jack or 2-wheel dolly.
• May be required to hand unload product and lift, up to 65 lbs., repeatedly.
• Safely operate and maintain Phillips equipment by all DOT and Phillips policies.
• Must have the ability to maneuver a 53’ trailer in confined spaces to safely deliver product.
• Other transportation and warehouse duties as assigned. May include but not limited to : Assisting with Petflow boxes, PetSense audits, warehouse put-aways, tagging LTL pallets, yard audits, etc.,

Position Requirements :

• Clean MVR with A-Class CDL
• Hold a current Medical Card
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to read and accurately enter data into a computer system.
• Solid understanding and compliance with DOT regulations and requirements.
